Beautyblog: My everyday makeup look

Sunday is family day at my grandmother's. Today I was talking with my cousin. She mentioned it has been a while since I've posted something new on my blog. She asked me to do a tutorial about my everyday makeup look. So I did!

These are the products I used. As you can see it's a very budgetproof look. I used:

  • Essence's Silky Touch Blush in the colour 20 Babydoll
  • A white Gosh kohl eyeliner
  • Catrice kohl kajal pencil - 030 Brown
  • MAC lipstick (Unlimited)
  • Sephora black eyeliner
  • Essence highlighter - 02 Winter Crystals
  • The top colour of  Sephora eyeshadow duo - Golden Kaki N06
  • An eyelash curler
  • Essence Sun Club eyeshadow palette - 02 Long Beach
  • Catrice eyeshadow base
  • Catrice Intensif'Eye Wet & Dry Shadow - 020 Charly's Chocolate Factory
  • Max Factor Masterpiece mascara in Black (waterproof)
  • Max Factor Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow in Pearl Beige
  • Max Factor Mastertouch Under-eye Concealer - 303 Ivory
  • L'Oréal Contour Kohl - 131 Jet Black
  • Max Factor Colour Elixer Lip Liner - 04 Pink Princess
  • Max Factor Second Skin Foundation - 070 Natural (not used in this tutorial)

First I started with the eyeshadow base of Catrice. In former times I didn't use an eyeshadow base. I tried it two weeks ago to see if I will take this in my routine, but I'm not convinced yet. Usually I use my liquid eyeshadow of Max Factor as a base. Anyways, after the eyeshadow base I applied some of the liquid eyeliner on my lid. After blending it I applied the Sephora eyeshadow.

I used the third colour of the Essence palette for my crease and the outer corner of my eyes.
To deepen my look I used Intensif'Eye in the outer corner of my eyes. I didn't blend yet; this comes later. I lined my lower lids with the brown eye pencil. On top of the eye pencil I applied the Intensif'Eye eyeshadow.
Here I blended the eyeshadow with the highlighter, which I used on my browbones. I also used the sixth colour of the eyeshadow palette to blend the two colours on my lid. I used just a little, only to make the colour blend better.
I put a thin line with the Sephora eyeliner. Sometimes I put a thicker line, when I'm working for example. I love the Sephora eyeliner. It is definitely a favourite. It is a matt black liner and it's possible to make the thinest lines. Besides that, the eyeliner stays on for hours without smudging. At the end of the day it looks like you just applied it!
After colouring my lids with the eyeshaduw colours and putting a thin line of eyeliner, I curl my lashes with the eyelash curler. I have long eyelashes (with a little help of the Castor oil they're even longer), but they don't curl. To make my eyes look brighter and wider, I use a lash curler, in combination with the Max Factor Masterpiece mascara. I used two coats on my top lashes and one on my bottom lashes. I also used the white kohl liner on my waterline to brighten up my eyes. If you look closely, you can see my lenses!
To intensify my look I deepened I used some black eyeliner on my bottom lashline. Just a little in the outer cornors. Final, I applied the concealer under my eyes. Some people might think it's strange to save that until the end, but I picked this up from arab makeup artists. If you have fall out from your eyeshadow, you can easily whipe this away with a tissue, without it sticking to your concealer. After whiping it away, you can apply the concealer and the chances on smudges are much smaller!

Depending on how my skin looks , I use foundation too, but today I skipped that step. I use foundation after I am done with my eye makeup, but before I apply my concealer. The reason why I use my foundation after the eye makeup is the same as the reason of the concealer, which I mentioned before.

This picture is taken after I applied my lipstick and ate dinner, so the lipstick faded away a bit. But this is the final look. I used just a little blush on my cheek bones, to keep it natural. I coloured my lips with the lip liner and used my MAC lipstick.

My cousin, who made the picture, was making my laugh, obviously. Another shot of the final look. This is my every day look. Sometimes I skip step 3 and keep the look more natural. In that case I use red lipstick instead of pink.
Another close up of the final look. Don't mind the eyebrows. I was about to shape and trim them, before my cousin asked me for the look. That's why my eyebrows are all messy. By the way, I only shape and trim my eyebrows. I think they're thick enough, so I don't use makeup on my brows.
A full face shot taken in the elevator.

Well, that was all. It doesnt't take a lot of time to make this look. It probably takes more time to read it than to make it! I hope you liked it.

I'm planning on doing a different look every week. If you have a certain look in mind that you want me to do next week, let me know!

    1. That's so sweet of you, thanks! :) It strikes me that Asian women are coping with this problem very often. Maybe you can try the castor oil I wrote about a few days ago? (http://petitesal.blogspot.com/2012/04/beautyblog-lash-miracle-part-ii.html)

If you're going to try it, keep me updated about the results! :)
